Dr. Candice Whealon is the DNP Program Co-Director at the University of California Irvine Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing. She is an Assistant Professor and focuses on nursing research to improve hospital patient outcomes, promote ER nurse wellness, and advance the utilization of advanced practice providers in the emergency room. She obtained her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration as a family nurse practitioner and a minor in nursing education. Prior to joining UC Irvine as DNP faculty, she was the West Division Regional Lead Advanced Practice Provider for Envision Physician Services, managing the physician assistants and nurse practitioners of three community emergency departments in Southern California. She is the immediate past president of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners Orange County and the immediate past founding President of the UC Irvine Alumni Association School of Nursing Chapter.

Junjie Zhang is an associate professor at the School of Medicine of Jiangsu University, the deputy director of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Wujin Hospital Affiliated with Jiangsu University, and the supervisor of graduate students at the School of Medicine of Jiangsu University. Member of the Cardiovascular Surgery Branch of Changzhou Medical Association. His research projects focus on basic and clinical research on cardiopulmonary diseases.

Dr. Ana Raquel Ortega-Martínez is a full professor at the University of Jaén in the areas of Nursing and Psychology, respectively, and is responsible for the PAIDI research groups: CTS990 and HUM434. Dr. María Luisa Grande-Gascón has developed her work in the field of Nursing and is currently the director of the University of Distance Education in the province of Jaén her teaching and research work has been carried out in the area of Nursing. All three have extensive experience in the field of research and for some time have been developing a line of research focused on physical and psychological health problems related to fibromyalgia.

Manmal Manikchand Begani is a consultant surgeon, at Bombay Hospital, Associate professor at B.H.I.M.S.bombay University, and Medical Director at Abhishek Day Care Institute & Medical Research Centre. He is a Member of the Association of Surgeons of India 1979.  (A.S.I.). (L.M.2833). In May 2023 he conducted a Workshop & training program conducted for the benefit of staff and resident Guests at Club Mahindra La Vintuna Hotel Gangtok. The topics covered namely: Role of the Public in Disaster Management, Integrating Science and Spirituality in Holistic Wellness, and the Potential of Day Care Surgery in India.

Robert Hoss, M.S. is the International Conference Director and Past President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams, from which he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. He also directs the DreamScience Foundation for co-funding dream research grants. He is a member of APA, on the research committee of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology, a Haden Institute faculty instructor, and on the board of the National Institute for Integrative Healthcare. He and his wife, Lynne Hoss, M.A. Clinical Psychology, CEHP, developed the Dream to Freedom protocol along with a uniquely scripted role-play dreamwork protocol derived from Gestalt Therapy training. They authored the handbook Dream to Freedom (EP Press) extracts of which have been published in two other clinical manuals and three peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Aisha Y Malik is an Associate of the Phronesis Foundation, an Associate Tutor at Warwick Medical school, University of Warwick, and a Tutor at the Dept. for Continuing Education, University of Oxford. She has experience in conducting empirical ethics research and teaching medical and research ethics, to undergraduate and postgraduate students in varied cultural contexts. Her research interests are mainly in gender’s role in decision-making, justice in medical research and phronesis. She developed a staged approach to making practically wise decisions that are being used in developing an app- the ‘wisdom wheel’  for making ethically wise decisions at the moment as also in debriefing and MDT  sessions.

Colleen F Inouye is the Interim Executive Director for the Hawaii Independent Physicians Association.  She graduated from Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School and completed an internship/residency at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County Medical Center. She has a Master’s degree from both Thomas Jefferson University in Population Health and the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in Medical Management.  She is a Board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and an Assistant Professor, co-directing the University of Hawaii Manoa JABSOM students who complete clinical rotations on Maui.  She has written about physician burn-out. Colleen has earned Fellowships from both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Association for Physician Leadership, where she is a Board member.  She enjoys working with physicians and advocating for them.

Maria Clelia Zurlo is a Full Professor of Dynamic Psychology and Head of the Dynamic Psychology Laboratory at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Her research covers the areas of Health Psychology and focuses on the development and applications of models and tools for the evaluation of stress dimensions and psychological and physical health conditions with reference to a wide range of target populations i.e., nurses, students, teachers, immigrant workers, partners of infertile couples, clinical patients. She is the author of more than 100 scientific publications in these areas of expertise, with several international co-authors. She has been involved in national and international research projects aimed at gaining a greater understanding of stress and well-being processes in different contexts (e.g., healthcare sector, educational contexts, occupational contexts).

Dr. Brunsvold is the Program Director of the General Surgery Residency. She also serves as the Clinical Director of the SimPORTAL Simulation Center. She serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and as the Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program. Nationally, Dr. Brunsvold participates in leadership and committee work in several organizations, including recently serving as Chair of the Education Research Committee of the Association for Surgical Education. She has contributed substantially to the Fundamentals of Surgery Curriculum and the ASPIRES project of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Brunsvold has been nationally recognized for her contributions to education, she received the Phillip J. Wolfson Outstanding Teaching Award from the Association for Surgical Education in 2014. She also received the 2009 Education Specialty Award for a submission to the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Mark Gray is an independent Nurse Consultant in Learning Disability and a Visiting Tutor at the Birmingham City University School of Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment). Which trains Rehabilitation officers for the Visually Impaired. Mark is a frequent guest lecturer at twelve other UK universities for the Degree in Learning Disability Nursing. Mark runs a successful Health & social care training and consultancy business and is involved in a mixture of clinical practice, teaching, and Policy development most recently working with the British Council and the Government of Azerbaijan in promoting employment for disabled people. He is a former Chair of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities and Pohwer a UK-wide Advocacy Organisation.

Dr. Summers is a Speciality Doctor in Emergency Medicine and has been working since 2015 in the Emergency Department at Airedale General Hospital, West Yorkshire, UK. She moved to live in the UK in 1996 and qualified as a nurse in 2002, obtaining  BSc(Hons) in Nursing Practice from the University of Bradford, and in 2005 completed PG Cert MSc Advancing Clinical Practice at Huddersfield University. In 2006 she enrolled to study medicine and was awarded an MBBS (Distinction) by the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK.

Dr. Summers worked as an Emergency Nurse for 3 years at Calderdale Royal Hospital and whilst studying medicine, she continued to work as a qualified Nurse across different hospitals and EDs.

Dr. Summers is passionate about education and contributing towards advancing clinical knowledge for all healthcare professionals.

Stéphane Pasquet is a Ph.D. student in Social psychology at the University of Rennes 2, France. Studying the research on the "Effectiveness of hypnosis in the prevention of fatigue of compassion in pediatric hemato-oncology nurses". Since 2018 he worked as a Nurse teacher, at the Nursing School of Saint Brieuc, France. In 2017, Master 2  Recherche en soins palliatifs. From 2012 – 2018, worked as a Nursing manager in palliative care units. Completed his Diploma of Nurse Anaesthesist in 2001.

Juji Resurreccion is the Director of Nursing for Inpatient Services at Kaiser Permanente Irvine. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills, California. She will graduate with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in December 2023 from Aspen Univerity in Phoenix, Nevada. She is knowledgeable about quality initiatives and practice change to improve health outcomes and is a catalyst of practice change, creating innovative ideas to drive staff engagement in implementing creative workflows. Her work at the organizational level includes being the Co-leader for the Prevention of Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injury committee, which is instrumental in decreasing hospital-acquired pressure injuries.

Fernanda Ramos Franco de Sá is a Medical Doctor / Dermatologist from Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia (SBD) / Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Dermatológica (SBCD) / Brazilian Melanoma Group (GBM), in Rio de Janeiro. She has her own private practice, working mainly with Surgical and Aesthetic Dermatology. Her concern for aesthetic results and safety brought speed and care to the case in question. She is the main author, responsible for reviewing the manuscript and providing guidance to the other authors. Intellectual participation in propaedeutic and/or therapeutic conduct of the case.

Dr. Prashanth Gunanayagam is an unaccredited registrar in vascular surgery working at Liverpool Hospital, South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). His research interests are in the complex management of diabetic foot disease, endovascular therapies for peripheral arterial and venous disease, and wound care management. He is committed to the delivery of holistic care to patients with DFD in a cost-effective manner.  

Joycelyn Desarno is a Nurse Educator in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University Health. She has worked at bedside as a NICU Staff Nurse III For 34 years and has developed clinical practice guidelines on Skin Care of Neonates, Gastrostomy Care in infants, and Prevention and Management of Peripheral intravenous Infiltration/Extravasation in Infants (Published by Neonatal Network). She actively participates in Quality and Process Improvement for patients to achieve better health outcomes and positive experiences.

Gözde ÖZARAS ÖZ is a faculty member in the Department of Nursing Fundamentals at Çankırı Karatekin University, Faculty of Health Sciences. She is the vice dean and senate representative of Çankırı Karatekin University, Faculty of Health Sciences. She has studied on nursing education, leadership in nursing, nursing and innovation. She has two patents related to the patient washing bed, a TÜBİTAK project and a company related to her project. She has also worked on the establishment of a Halotherapy and Rehabilitation center. She has planned and conducted many studies for the development of nursing education.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Takroni, a Cardiac Rehabilitation Consultant, Fellowship program in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Duke University and Medical (DUMC), North Carolina, USA, 1996. Master's degree in physical therapy from King Saud University 2008, Master's degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK, 2009. Ph.D., in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, UK, 2011. Member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), member of the Irish Association of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation (IACR), member of the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR), member of Saudi Heart Association (SHA). Develop the Cardiac Rehabilitation programs at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, head the section of the cardiac rehab team at King Faisal Heart Institute, King Faisal Specialist Hospital, and Research Center, and the inpatient supervisor, of the physical therapy department.

Carlene is an advanced clinical nurse specialist and Independent Nurse Prescriber at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). She developed the continence service across all pelvic poor disciplines when first started at GSTT 21 years ago. First nurse in the UK to lead the nurse-led telephone assessment clinic for pelvic poor dysfunction. This is a new service set up by the colorectal department at GSTT. Carlene has lectured extensively in both the UK and internationally about the role of nurse-led conservative assessment and management of pelvic poor dysfunction.

Dr. Gay L. Goss is a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner and a full nursing professor at United States University in Austin, Texas. She received her advanced practice nursing education and Ph.D. in nursing science at the University of California San Francisco, where she was a Eugene Cotta Robles fellowship recipient. Her professional experience includes advanced clinical practice, academia, expert medical malpractice witness work, and consulting. Research interests include pregnancy outcomes in the Hispanic population, perception of pain with elective termination, preterm labor, endometriosis, cardiovascular health in women, and dysmenorrhea in adolescents, and vasomotor symptoms of menopause. Dr. Goss has presented at national and international nursing conferences and published on these topics in a variety of professional healthcare journals. She also has served extensively as a peer reviewer and editorial advisory board member for nursing and women’s health journals and organizations.

Euzeli da Silva Brandão is an Associate Professor of the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing and Administration and a Permanent Professor of the Professional Master's Degree in Assistantial Nursing at the Fluminense Federal University. President of the Brazilian Association of Nursing in Dermatology - Rio de Janeiro Regional. Ph.D. in Nursing from the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Specialist in Dermatological Nursing by the Brazilian Society of Nursing in Dermatology. Experience in Nursing, with an emphasis on Dermatology, working on the topics: of maintenance and recovery of skin integrity, and care for people with skin conditions such as immunobullous dermatoses and psoriasis.

Wei-Jie Wang serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Continew Medical, Inc. From 2015 to 2020, she concentrated her studies on tropical medicine and parasitology. Subsequently, from 2020 to 2023, she transitioned her research focus to next-generation sequencing and the study of rare diseases. Currently, her research program emphasizes the extraction and purification of specific exosomes, along with conducting cell-based and animal-based studies.

Hanan Daghash is a nurse and researcher with experience in healthcare systems. Currently residing in Saudi Arabia, Hanan has a Master of Medicine Science from Malaya University in Malaysia and a Bachelor of Nursing Science from The Hashemite University in Jordan. Hanan has pursued continuing education in various subjects such as Data Skills Workforce Development, Data Management for Clinical Research, and Statistical Analysis. Her research experience includes being a Graduate Researcher at the University of Malaya, where she coordinated program development, implementation, evaluation, and budgeting. Hanan's current role is as a Research Coordinator at Al-Gahd International College, where she works with faculty to improve data entry, management, and analysis. She is also a peer reviewer, providing written and unbiased feedback on the scholarly merits and scientific value of works.

Dr Maureen Jersby is an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University. She is the program lead for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice. Maureen completed her Ph.D. studies Establishing the Benefits of Utilising Simulation-based Education in an Undergraduate Nursing Programme under the supervision of Professor Paul Van Schaik at Teesside University.  Maureen leads the clinical skills sustainable practice group.

Margaret DiRuggiero is a senior at the US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO. She looks forward to graduating in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Mandarin. She plans to attend medical school in Fall 2024. Her passion for scientific publishing and presenting began in high school starting the first online, peer-reviewed, open-access journal for middle and high school girls to encourage them to stay in STEM. In undergrad, she has published 8 articles focused on dermatology and primary care and is excited to continue learning through publishing and presenting. 

Dr Dieudonne Kayiranga is a nurse clinician, educator, researcher and leader specialised in paediatric nursing with extensive research in HIV care and adolescent health. Dr Kayiranga holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Rwanda, where he also completed his Master's in Paediatric Nursing, and has been a faculty member since 2011. His extensive career includes roles such as Deputy Coordinator for Research and Postgraduate Programmes, Head of the Department of General Nursing, and Deputy Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Rwanda. In the field of HIV research, Dr Kayiranga has made a significant impact with his PhD study focusing on the concept of 'successful living' among adolescents with HIV in Rwanda, with the aim of improving health outcomes and quality of life for this population. He has attended various Universities as a visiting scholar, such as Duke University School of Nursing in the  USA and Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in Canada. He presented his findings at numerous international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to the advancement of HIV care practices. Dr Kayiranga's work is instrumental in shaping health policy and support for adolescents living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.

Jolanta Tupikiene is an anaesthetic nurse at Republican Klaipeda Hospital, Lithuania. She holds a master's degree in health sciences obtained at Klaipeda University, Lithuania 2023. For many years Jolanta practiced nursing in the United Kingdom, where she gained experience in respiratory and cardiac nursing also interventional radiology. Her program of research is focused on quality of life. 

Dr. Ciance received her RN diploma in Nursing from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, and her BSN and MS in Community Health Nursing from Worcester State University. She received her DNP from Walden University. She has 41 years of nursing experience working in various roles and different settings. She is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Nursing at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. teaching in the Pre-Licensure BSN program and the RN-BSN program.  She is the President of the Iota Phi-at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.  

Dr. Ein-Gal received her PhD. from Ben-Gurion University for her research work on Palliative Care and Dying Patient Law. This law enables terminal patients to avoid unnecessary resuscitation and other interventions. After teaching at the Academic Nursing School at the Shamir Hospital for 23 years, Dr. Ein-Gal has been working as Manager of Surveys and Quality Audits in the QA and Safety Division at the Israel MoH. There she manages research surveys on a range of subjects, including End-Of-Life Care, Diabetes, Anesthesia, Organizational Safety Culture, Covid-19, At-Home Hospitalization and other topics. Dr. Ein-Gal has published over 80 reports and research papers and has been active in the Patient Safety Culture Group at the OECD since 2020. 

Prof. Coşkun Usta has been working as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine since 1993. In 2003, He participated in research in Rome, Italy. His main research areas include central nervous system diseases and diabetes. His special interest is microbiota and nutrition.

Jennifer initially qualified as a speech and language therapist. She became a specialist clinician in hospitals, schools, and community settings in the north of England, with adults and children, many of whom had a history of trauma. These included adults with learning disabilities who had experienced family neglect and physical, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse,e often over decades. Many patients had cognitive and behavioural problems due to their horrific experiences during long-stay residence in Victorian ‘asylums’.  Jennifer provided consultancy liaison with group homes, supporting staff and residents in applying an integrative holistic approach to residential care.

Jennifer’s work with children with additional needs, including clients with cognitive, visual and auditory impairment and mobility issues, led her to seek alternative approaches through post-graduate training in metaphysics, energy healing and sound vibration. Senior roles as Tutor therapist and Principal of The Academy of Spiritual Sciences followed. Specialist clinical research into Tinnitus, identifying stress and trauma as underlying causative factors, led to her successful therapy programme for this intractable condition through an online consultancy with Living Memory Research Trust.  Jennifer’s current research focuses on the healing application of vocal sound (toning) and energy alignment.

Completed MSc Medical and Healthcare Education at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford Compus-UK. The program of research focuses on gathering evidence on the various ways in which Type 2 diabetes education is delivered across the globe.  This was part of the academic work for the Masters program, which aims to make available to practitioners current ways of community type 2 diabetes structured health education methods based on current literature evidence.

Dr. Samira Obeid is a public health researcher and nurse educator, focusing on health issues within the minority community in Israel.

After completing her nursing degree in 1988, Samira held various nursing and administrative positions before obtaining her PhD in Public Health in 2012. Since then, she has worked as a lecturer at Emek Yezreel College while also serving as Head of the Health Promotion Department and the Head of the Research Department within the north district of the Ministry of Health.

Samira's research interests include promoting healthy lifestyles, investigating risk behaviors within minority populations, and assessing intervention programs. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at numerous international conferences.

Ruthy is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare experience. She specializes in psychiatry, with a focus on increasing access to mental healthcare for adolescents and young adults in rural communities. Ruthy is deeply committed to compassionate, trauma-informed care and to promoting safer environments for healthcare workers. She is a past member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Council for Safe Environments, and is also a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, International Society of Psychiatric Nurses, and Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society. Ruthy graduated from Gonzaga University and currently practices in Oregon.  

Dr. Khater is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Adult Health Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology. Dr. Khater received my PhD degree in Nursing from Kansas University Medical Center, USA, in 2006 and completed her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Jordan in 1995, and 1999, respectively. Dr. Khater has published several articles in palliative care nursing care, symptoms management and critical care nursing. 

Chris is a Clinical Study Manager with B. Braun Medical North America. He is based in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include study design, protocol development, study monitoring, data analysis/review, and report and publication generation for US-based studies involving devices and pharmaceutical products. Previously he worked in a clinical Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic group at Johnson and Johnson and was responsible for the analysis of investigational compounds in human biological samples, study design/protocol development, monitoring of clinical studies, data analysis, and report and submission module generation. He has a BS in Biology/Natural Science from Moravian College in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. 

Dr Angela Ridley is an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University, she is an educator and researcher. She joined Northumbria University in 2009 and during that time has successfully led MScs/BSc Nursing to achieve national recognition and award-winning success. Angela is a champion for sustainability and embedding into nursing curricula and ultimately nursing practice.

Galit Levi is the Chief Nurse at Lev Hasharon Mental Health Center and Chair of the Israeli Association of Psychiatric Nursing. With over 30 years of experience in mental health care, she has played a central role in shaping psychiatric nursing policy and promoting professional standards across the country. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing and is a certified CBT therapist. Galit is also a co-founder of the Nurse-to-Nurse initiative — a national volunteer network providing emotional support to healthcare workers, led by psychotherapist nurses. Her work reflects a deep commitment to clinical leadership, innovation, and the empowerment of psychiatric nursing professionals.

Jenny Segalovich, serves as the Chief Nurse at Sha’ar Menashe Mental Health Center, the largest psychiatric hospital in Israel and the country’s national center for forensic psychiatry. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing and is a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). With over two decades of experience in mental health care, she brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to the advancement of psychiatric nursing. Ms. Segalovich is a co-founder of the *Nurse to Nurse* initiative, a national volunteer program providing immediate emotional support to healthcare professionals, led by psychiatric nurses trained in psychotherapy. In her leadership role, she emphasizes partnership, innovation, and humanity as the foundations for meaningful change in mental health services.

Dr. Nesrin N. Abu-Baker is a Full Professor, in the Department of Community & Mental Health Nursing, at Jordan University of Science and Technology. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at the Faculty of Nursing. She received her BSN from Jordan University of Science and Technology, her MSN and Ph.D. in Community Health Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, USA. She has publications related to public health, school health, and women’s health. She supervised many master theses and conducted funded research in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.

Chunmei Zhang has studied at LAC + USC in Los Angeles, the Affiliated Hospital of Grenoble University in France, and visited well-known national hospitals in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.Long-term commitment to providing a full range of support and care for cancer patients. She has extensive clinical experience and deep expertise in the field of pediatric oncology, has long been concerned about the physical and mental health of pediatric cancer patients, and is also actively involved in the care of adult cancer patients, promoting the integration of pediatric and adult cancer care.
She has not only published a number of high-level academic papers in the professional field but also actively participated in various academic exchange activities to promote standardization and scientific oncology care. She is currently on the editorial board of China Nursing Magazine, China Nursing Management Journal and Journal of Wen Medical University. She edited and participated in the compilation of 15 books and textbooks, presided over 19 projects at the provincial and ministerial level and bureau levels, and published more than 90 core journal papers as the first author and corresponding author.

Massimiliano Guastella is a Data Analyst and Machine Learning Engineer who led the development of an advanced data analysis system at PRISMED’s IT department, focusing on real-time infection monitoring and prevention in healthcare. Leveraging his expertise to bridge data science and clinical operations, he ensures that data-driven insights translate into actionable outcomes for both patients and providers. Dedicated to innovation, he continually refines the system’s analytical processes to enhance patient safety and reduce staff workload. Thomas Heise studied Sinology, prehistory, and archeology and got a PhD. He is an MD, first working in internal medicine for some years. He studied TCM in China for two years (acupuncture, qigong, taijiquan) then nature healing. After a successful career in psychiatry and psychotherapy, he wrote another PhD thesis and became an assistant professor at the medical university of Hannover. Later, he was Chief Doctor at the psychiatric department of the city hospital in Zwickau for five years. He changed to China and worked there in his own daytime clinic for about three years. Now he is working in his private holistic ambulance for psychotherapy in Switzerland. He was chair and co-chair for several years of the German society for anthropology/ethnomedicine (AGEM). He founded and edited a book series on transcultural issues with 20 volumes for professionals, published many articles and some books on trans and cultural issues, traditional Chinese medicine, Corona-syndrom and holistic health. 

Alain CARTIGNY is a senior healthcare executive, educational manager and deputy director of the operating room nursing school at the Montpellier University Hospital (France). Since 1989, he was successively an operating room nurse and then a specialized operating room nurse from 1996 and worked in several hospitals. Having become a healthcare executive in 2008, he managed various care teams until 2011, when he joined his current position, first as a trainer and then as educational manager from January 2014. He holds a master's degree in educational sciences from 2013, for which he wrote a dissertation on the subject of tutoring students on internships. He has published several articles in the journal Interbloc on the subjects of cooperation, the surgical tourniquet and on the implementation of the clinical research internship for operating room nursing students as part of the university reengineering for obtaining this diploma.

Tracy Gosselin is the Senior Vice President, Chief Nurse Executive, and the Enid A. Haupt Chair in Nursing at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to this, she served as the Chief Nursing and Patient Care Services Officer at Duke University Hospital. She started her career as a staff nurse at Duke Hospital in oncology and she has served in a variety of clinical and administrative positions across the care continuum. She publishes and presents on a variety of topics locally, nationally and internationally. She’s a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and the New York Academy of Medicine.

Sin-Ying is a senior mental health clinician at a public mental health service in Melbourne, Australia with experience across child and family wellbeing, family violence and general health. She has a special interest in borderline personality disorder (BPD). Her research interests focus on improving clinical outcomes for those with lived experience of BPD. Passionate about evidence-based practice, she works to improve service provision and promote better care for individuals living with BPD.

Dr. Kerri Mason is originally from Nebraska, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and her medical doctorate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed a pediatric internship at Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron and her residency in emergency medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.  She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and has served as an attending emergency medicine physician for the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine for the last 18 years. She has also served as the Medical Director for the Denver Health Medical Aid in Dying Program for the last 6 years, owing to her commitment and passion to care for patients at the end of their lives. In her free time, Kerri enjoys being active and spending time with her family of 6 and friends in the beautiful mountainous outdoors of Colorado.

She is a published author whose work has contributed to the fields of quality, emergency medicine, disaster management, and nursing.

Dr. Nathan Baskin is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and has practiced at the San Francisco VA Medical Center since 2014, serving as Chief Physician Utilization Management Advisor since 2019. His administrative work centers on improving health care utilization, reducing waste, and enhancing patient outcomes and access. He has led multiple successful quality improvement initiatives, including reducing Emergency Department admission delays, shortening inpatient stays for patients awaiting long-term care placement, creating an Extended Recovery unit for post-procedure patients without safe transport, and establishing a short-stay rehabilitation unit for patients needing brief PT/OT before discharge.

Lovelyamma J. Varghese, DNP, MSN, FNP, RN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC, Coldiron Fellow, is a transformational nurse leader, scholar, and educator with more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience across inpatient, ambulatory, sub-acute, and long-term care settings. She currently serves as the Director of Nursing Education and Performance Improvement at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she leads system-wide initiatives in clinical excellence, professional development, and quality improvement.

Dr. Varghese has advanced major institutional achievements, including a reduction of hospital-acquired infections and patient falls, the implementation of a Care Delivery Daily Management System, successful Beacon and Pathway to Excellence designations, and award-winning nursing-sensitive outcomes. She is a recognized thought leader in nursing orientation, transition-to-practice models, and interdisciplinary care delivery, with her work published in Nurse Leader and other leading journals.

Ottomar Bahrs, PhD, is a German medical sociologist. He was born in Hamburg in 1951 and studied social sciences from 1971 to 1978 in Göttingen. 1979 - 2017 Research assistant at the Institutes of medical sociology and general medicine at the University of Göttingen and Hannover Medical School and at the Institute of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology at the University of Göttingen. He obtained his doctorate in 1990 with a thesis on seizure patients' occupational and social rehabilitation ("Rehabilitation begins at home"). He was co-founder of the Institute for Applied Quality Promotion and Research in Healthcare (aQua). After retirement in 2017, he worked as a freelancer at the Institute for General Medicine at the University of Düsseldorf. Lecturer in salutogenesis at Fulda University of Applied Sciences since 2022. A spokesperson for the umbrella organization Salutogenesis and editor of the journal "Der Mensch - Zeitschrift für Salutogenese und anthropologische Medizin". Main areas of work: Dealing with chronic illness, destigmatization and empowerment, salutogenesis, health promotion, quality development through quality circles, inter-professional cooperation, self-help promotion, person-centered medicine, biographical research and qualitative interaction analyses.

En-Ling Wu, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Infectious Diseases and Global Health at The University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, and previously worked as a community primary care provider from 2016 to 2020. Her research interests center on the implementation of HIV, STI, and viral hepatitis treatment and prevention in resource-limited primary care settings in the United States.

Julie Honvault has been a registered nurse since 2013. She worked in various care units before working in the operating room since 2018. She then completed the operating room nurse training at the operating room nursing school of CHU Amiens-Picardie in France. She has been a state-certified operating room nurse since July 2024 at the Boulogne-sur-Mer Hospital Center. It was during this training that her scientific article "Soft toys in the operating theatre: objects of communication versus objects of contamination" was written. The article is based on her end-of-study thesis. It was published in the magazine Interbloc (April-June 2025).

Jhon Alexander Rojas Caballero, is a nurse specialist in critical care for adults and children, with a Master's degree in Nursing, a Doctorate in Education, Professor at the University of Santander and the University of Pamplona, Researcher, and thesis supervisor.

Dr Annie Rylance graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School with an MBChB with distinction. She endeavours to train in intensive care medicine and is currently working in The Prince Charles Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Brisbane, Australia. She has a special interest in enhanced recovery after major surgery and developed the PROMOTE programme whilst working in the ICU at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. She has been invited to teach on this topic on the Acute, Critical and Emergency Care BSc at the University of Liverpool and at Merseyside Regional Surgical Registrar Teaching.

Dr. Elizabeth Aaron is an accomplished Nursing Professional Development Specialist, nurse leader, and practice setting coordinator. She brings over 22 years of experience advancing nursing practice through education and care delivery by evidence-based practice, quality, and safe patient care. She led transformative initiatives across critical care, nurse residency, and leadership development, resulting in significant improvements in quality outcomes. She led several nurse residency projects, including reductions in hospital-acquired infections, falls, length of stay, and ventilator-associated events. A recipient of the D-Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award (2024) and DFW Great 100 Nurse (2022), she is passionate about innovation, mentorship, and building resilient, high-performing nursing teams.

Adewale Olayode MD, is an Assistant Professor at The Institute of Critical Care Medicine (ICCM), ICAHN school of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care and Neurocritical Care. His research focus is on critically ill patients with interests on improving safety and techniques of bedside invasive vascular and Non-Vascular procedures. He is an excellent teacher and recipient of many awards including the UCONN HEALTH Internal Medicine Aldo Bellucci Award for Teaching Excellence and the Mount Sinai ICCM Educator of the Year award. He is currently the Associate ICU director at Mount Sinai Queens in New York, where he is also serves as the site academic coordinator

Dr. Ebiakpor Bainkpo Agbedi is a distinguished public health expert with a Doctor of Science in Public Health and Epidemiology from Atlantic International University, Honolulu, USA. With over eight years of experience as the Director of Planning, Research & Statistics at the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board, he has significantly contributed to enhancing health initiatives in Nigeria. Dr. Agbedi has published more than 15 papers in reputable international journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing public health knowledge and practice. His work focuses on improving reproductive and family planning and addressing health disparities in underserved communities.

Méline Bossart has been a state-registered nurse since 2021, and went directly to the operating room at the Boulogne-sur-Mer Hospital Center. She then undertook operating room nurse training at the operating room nursing school of the Amiens-Picardie University Hospital from 2024, a training that will end in June 2026. It was during this training that she wrote her research thesis entitled “When the operating room becomes the research ground for scrub nurses: between constraints and commitment”, the subject of this study.

Sowmith Rangu, MD, FRCPC, is a pediatric cardiac intensivist Dell Children’s Medical Center. He specializes in ­­­cardiac critical care and pediatric heart failure/MCS/transplant. Additionally, Dr. Rangu is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Rangu earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Canada. He completed both an internship and residency in pediatrics at Memorial University of Newfoundland, followed by pediatric cardiology training at the University of Alberta in Canada. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiovascular intensive care and a fellowship in pediatric advanced cardiac therapies at Stanford University, where he gained specialized skills in both temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support (MCS)

Dr. Rangu’s clinical interests focus on optimizing outcomes in pediatric cardiac intensive care. He has a particular focus on temporary and durable MCS in children, especially those with complex congenital heart disease. His research investigates the optimal timing for MCS implementation and the factors that influence outcomes in children requiring mechanical support.

Michelle Bergen is an NP on the hematology-oncology outpatient unit at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Fresno, California. She graduated with her BSN degree in 1994 from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Her nursing career started on the oncology/hematology/BMT unit in adult and pediatric medical and radiation oncology. During her career as a RN she also worked in forensic and paranesthesia nursing. In 2017, she earned her MSN degree in Nurse Practitioner at California State University-Fresno, and is board certified through the ANCC. In 2020, she obtained her DNP degree at the University of San Francisco, majoring in population health leadership. Her project's aim was to change clinical practice on the diagnostic and treatment methods of coccidioidomycosis. She successfully implemented a screening program at a rural medical clinic in Fresno County, educating primary care providers on coccidioidomycosis prevention, its symptoms, disease implications, mandatory screening/testing, and early treatment in high-risk groups

Captain Kane (ret) is a 36‑year Navy veteran who began her career as a Hospital Corpsman before commissioning in 1986. A native of Alabama, she earned her BSN from Auburn University Montgomery in 1992, followed by advanced studies at Oxford University and an MSN in Nursing Administration from George Mason University in 1999. In 2008, she completed her PhD at the Uniformed Services University, pioneering research on the effects of tungsten alloys in muscle cells. She was the first Navy nurse to disseminate nurse‑driven research to improve care for 30,000 wounded veterans with retained combat fragments. Selected for the Johnson & Johnson Fellowship at Wharton in 2010, she later served as the first Navy Chief of the Centers for Nursing Science and Clinical Inquiry. Kane also founded Project SERVE, training Alabama nursing students to care for wounded warriors. Today, she serves on the Board of Still Serving Veterans and teaches at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Dr. Misty Smith is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) with over 18 years of experience in nursing academia, teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing Education, with dissertation research focused on the lived work experiences of novice, doctorally prepared nurse educators, reflecting her strong preparation in qualitative research methodologies. Dr. Smith has extensive experience designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing curricula, including work aligned with accreditation and AACN BSN Essentials. Her research interests include nurse educator role transitions, mentorship, innovative teaching strategies, the practice readiness of nursing students and new nursing graduates, and the professional development of nurse educators. She is a co-investigator on a funded National League for Nursing education research grant and serves on DNP and Ph.D. committees at UAH, making her a valuable contributor to nursing education research teams.

Commander Amy Aparicio, MSN, CNS, CHSE, RNC-OB, FAWHONN, is a Women’s Health/Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist in the United States Navy Nurse Corps with nearly 20 years of experience in perinatal nursing, simulation, leadership, and operational readiness. She currently serves in the United States Navy Nurse Corps, supporting women’s health and perinatal readiness initiatives and is the Navy Labor and Delivery Specialty Consultant. CDR Aparicio is a PhD student in Nursing Science at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences with research interests focused on simulation science, skill acquisition and decay, operational readiness, and transfer of learning among military healthcare personnel. She has presented nationally on women’s health, barriers to access to care and simulation-based education.

Mark Gray is an independent Nurse Consultant in Learning Disability and a Visiting Tutor at the Birmingham City University School of Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment). Which trains Rehabilitation officers for the Visually Impaired. Mark is a frequent guest lecturer at twelve other UK universities for the Degree in Learning Disability Nursing. Mark runs a successful Health & social care training and consultancy business and is involved in a mixture of clinical practice, teaching, and Policy development most recently working with the British Council and the Government of Azerbaijan in promoting employment for disabled people. Dr. Becker is a clinician involved in research that directly impacts community health from a neurocognitive and behavioral health perspective.

Dr. Brunsvold is the Program Director of the General Surgery Residency. She also serves as the Clinical Director of the SimPORTAL Simulation Center. She serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and as the Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program. Nationally, Dr. Brunsvold participates in leadership and committee work in several organizations, including recently serving as Chair of the Education Research Committee of the Association for Surgical Education. She has contributed substantially to the Fundamentals of Surgery Curriculum and the ASPIRES project of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Brunsvold has been nationally recognized for her contributions to education, she received the Phillip J. Wolfson Outstanding Teaching Award from the Association for Surgical Education in 2014. She also received the 2009 Education Specialty Award for a submission to the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Gay L. Goss is a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner and a full nursing professor at United States University in Austin, Texas. She received her advanced practice nursing education and Ph.D. in nursing science at the University of California San Francisco, where she was a Eugene Cotta Robles fellowship recipient. Her professional experience includes advanced clinical practice, academia, expert medical malpractice witness work, and consulting. Research interests include pregnancy outcomes in the Hispanic population, perception of pain with elective termination, preterm labor, endometriosis, cardiovascular health in women, and dysmenorrhea in adolescents, and vasomotor symptoms of menopause. Dr. Goss has presented at national and international nursing conferences and published on these topics in a variety of professional healthcare journals. She also has served extensively as a peer reviewer and editorial advisory board member for nursing and women’s health journals and organizations.
